Our online store is open 24/7 for your shopping convenience. If you prefer to place your order directly through the retail shop, please call 239-579-0409. We are available to take your call between the hours of 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM (EST) Monday thru Friday. If you should receive a recorded message, please leave your name and telephone number and we will return your call. You may also contact us anytime at mail@surroundingsbymelinda.com.

Many items sold on this site are vintage or handmade. Please remember that vintage items are not always perfect and therefore are sold "as is". There may be imperfections such as variations in color or signs of age as noted in the descriptions…these imperfections add to the charm and character of each piece. Due to the vintage nature of our items all sales are final. We try to be as accurate as possible in our descriptions and disclose any flaws or visible damage. It is your responsibility to be aware of the measurements and full description before ordering. Handmade items may vary, and product variations are to be expected. If you have any questions about any item, please contact us prior to purchase. Surroundings by Melinda does not offer returns or exchanges for any items on our website, however we will work with you as best as we can to satisfy any issues that may arise. In the case that a return settlement is reached, all items returned are subject to a 20 percent restocking fee and must be received back within 30 days of the date of your original purchase. Return shipping fees will be at the customer’s expense. If we receive the item(s) and they are damaged and not in selling condition you will not receive any credit or refund. Surroundings by Melinda reserves the right to deny any return if the merchandise is not in selling condition. No exceptions.
Payment Information
We accept most major credit cards: VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Our shopping cart provider is Paypal. Your information is processed through Paypal's secure servers and your privacy is protected by Paypal's SSL technology. A PayPal account is not required to make a purchase, however you may use your PayPal account for your purchases if you prefer. To make a purchase on this website, simply put the items you wish to purchase into your shopping cart and proceed to the checkout. You are always welcome to place orders by phone by calling (239)579-0409.
Checks and money orders are accepted through our retail shop. Checks will need to clear before merchandise will be shipped to you. This process can take 7 to 10 business days from the time we receive the check prior to shipment. You CAN NOT use our online service when paying with a check or money order. You must call and place your order at our shop (239)579-0409.
Sales Tax
Sales tax (6%) is automatically applied to your order if your shipping address is located within the state of Florida. All other states please refer to your state’s guidelines on sales tax reporting for online orders. Sales tax is automatically calculated at the time of checkout.
Shipping
Please expect a 3-5 day turn around prior to shipping. Standard shipping takes 5-7 business days. If you need something by a specific date, please do not order online. Rush shipping is available upon request however you must contact us via telephone (239)579-0409 and we will do our very best to meet your needs.
Standard Rates:
Our shipping policy is based on the dollar amount of your order. Shipping is calculated for you at the time of checkout. Additional shipping will be required for Alaska and Hawaii. On occasion, an incorrect shipping charge may be calculated, should this occur, we reserve the right to change the delivery service to one comparable to the service you chose.
Delivery Options:
We ship via ground delivery, most often using USPS. However, we reserve the right to select the manner in which each item is delivered. We do not, however, maintain any control over the shipping companies. Once your transaction is made online, we cannot change shipping addresses, we cannot make a delivery happen on a certain day, and we can only approximate delivery times. Delivery times are never guaranteed. We do our best to make sure that your package arrives safely to you, but we are not responsible for lost or damaged items once they are in the hands of the ground delivery service.
DO NOT order online if you require a specific type of shipping (overnight, 2-3 day, etc.); you must call and place your order through our retail shop 239-579-0409.
Local Pick up:
Pick ups are welcomed, strictly by appointment at our retail shop. We need prior notification should you like to purchase an online item in the shop. Surroundings by Melinda retail shop is located on Sanibel Island in Florida. Local delivery can be arranged for a small fee. If interested in this option, please feel free to inquire by calling the shop weekdays between 11:00am and 5:00pm (239)579-0409.
International shipping:
International shipping is not offered via internet orders at this time. If you are located outside the contiguous 48 states mentioned above and are interested in purchasing something from this site, please contact us via telephone or email. We will discuss options on a case by case basis. If you place an order to be shipped internationally without contacting us via phone for a quote, your order will not ship until the international shipping price is paid in full. You have 14 days to pay the balance due or else the item will be returned to inventory. Due to the fact that the item(s) have not been available for other customers to purchase as well as the time involved in manually returning items to inventory, a refund will not be provided for any partial payment. In such instances, the customer will receive notification that the order has been cancelled and will have 24 hours to complete the payment.
Delivery Damages:
It is your responsibility to ensure that the product has not been damaged during shipping. PLEASE take the time to inspect your delivery. If there is any damage, be sure to note it on the delivery ticket. If the damage is severe or excessive, please refuse the shipment and call us immediately at 239-579-0409.
If you accept the package and find damaged goods, DO NOT attempt to make a return without contacting us first. Returns due to shipping damages are handled on a case by case basis. You must contact us immediately if you receive damaged goods. NO RETURNS WILL BE AUTHORIZED IF YOU HAVE BEEN IN RECEIPT OF THE ITEM(S) MORE THAN (1) BUSINESS DAY OR 24 HOURS FROM DELIVERY. DELIVERY RECORDS WILL BE UTILIZED TO DETERMINE DATE AND TIME OF RECEIPT. You must keep all packaging materials and damaged goods for inspection. It is advised to take photographs of damaged goods and packaging; however photographs of damages and packaging will not be sufficient. Shipping and return shipping charges are not refundable. Surroundings by Melinda is not responsible for returns not received or for product(s) damaged in route to us and not insured. No exceptions. We will try our best to assist you in filing claims for damage of items during transit. Remember: we will only insure your package IF you contact us prior to placing an online order!
Refusal of Delivery:
If you refuse delivery of your order, you will be charged for all shipping costs, including the cost to return the item to us. You will also be charged for any bank credit card fees that have been incurred along with handling and restocking fee (min. 25%). This does not apply to refusal of damaged products.
Errors
Human and technical errors can and do occur. We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions made within this website. We also reserve the right to change or update information at any time without prior notification. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Privacy
Surroundings by Melinda respects your privacy. We may collect information from you to process your order however we will maintain and use this information responsibly. We assure you that your information will not be shared with anyone else. All of our checkout pages are on a secure server provided by PayPal and your privacy is protected by PayPal’s SSL technology. Surroundings by Melinda will never share your information with anyone else without your permission.
